Today we’d like to introduce you to Dan Wilson of Mai Tai Yacht Charters.
Dan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Mai Tai started in 2013 with a single yacht. We quickly made a name for ourselves as the most fun you can have on a yacht in San Diego!!
We know how to have a good time and celebrate any occasion. In the summer months, we give great tours of San Diego Bay and often set anchor and swim in the warm water near Coronado. We crank up the music, mix drinks and create amazing memories.
That was 5 years ago. Now, we have 10 boats. A combination of power yachts and sailboats to accommodate from 6 passengers up to 130 passengers. No matter the event or occasion we have a boat for that!
In 2018, we foresee our fleet expanding, while keeping our prices below industry average. Our goal is to take it to the next level and be the premier private charter company in San Diego.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our struggles …. We’ll these are boats and boats always need some kind of work.
Other obstacles would be developing more relationships with the San Diego business community. We feel we are a natural fit to provide entertainment on the water for hotel, downtown club and corporate guests. We would very much like to expand those relationships.

Mai Tai Yacht Charters is the premier San Diego charter company for bachelorette parties / bachelor parties / birthday parties / corporate events / special events / weddings / whale watching / Bay tours / Media Filming / vacation rentals to Catalina or Ensenada / Fishing / and pretty much anything you can think of on a boat!!
We have boats that range from 35 feet to 90 feet that can take 130 guests.

- $250 – $1,700 per hour depending on the boat
- $500 2 hour weekday booze cruise special (Mon – Thu)
